UW-Whitewater is set to host the "Dig Pink" event this Friday, October 1, in a match against UW-Stout beginning at 7:00 pm in the Kris Russell Volleyball Arena. The Warhawks, along with the eight other Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference schools, are participating in the event to support breast cancer awareness.
This is the third year that the WIAC has participated in the promotion. Over the past two seasons, the WIAC has raised $33,751 in support of the cause.
All fans are encouraged to wear pink. Anyone wearing pink will be entered to win prizes including free pizza from Rocky Rococo's, Warhawk volleyball t-shirts, and much more. There will be a 50/50 Raffle and silent auction for a pink game ball signed by the team to raise money for breast cancer awareness.
Pink pom-poms will be handed out to spectators at the door while supplies last.
