Christina Tooren (Hoffman Estates, IL/Hoffman Estates) scored her team leading ninth goal of the season at 6:43, with assists from
Laren Nashleanas (Brookfield/East) and
Emily Gerber (DeForest/DeForest).
The goal held up into halftime, and proved to be the game winner.
Early in the second half, at 49:35, Gerber almost got on the board, but her shot bounced off the post. Nashleanas had the same thing happen, a shot off the post, at 55:03.
Gerber avoided the post, netting her fifth goal of the season, unassisted at 59:47.
UW-W's defense kept the Falcons at bay, with Warhawk netminder
Sam Neely (Oregon/Oregon) making just two saves on four Concordia shots. Whitewater had 28 shots, ten of them on goal. The Warhawks also had ten corner kicks to none for CU.
Whitewater improved to 5-4 for the season, while Concordia is now 3-5-1. UW-W will travel to Rock Island, Illinois to face Augustana College October 5. The next home game for the Warhawks will be a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matchup, hosting UW-Stevens Point Saturday, October 9 at 1:30.
