The Warhawk volleyball team, ranked eighth in the American Volleyball Coaches Association top 25 poll, defeated UW-Superior 3-0 (25-10, 25-17, 25-20) in Superior Saturday afternoon.

UW-W tripled the number of kills Superior had pounding down 46 in the match to the Yellowjackets' 15. Whitewater topped Superior in service aces by a 14-2 margin. The Warhawks' 70 digs digs and eight assist blocks held UW-Superior to just a .139 hitting percentage in the contest.

Sofia Sanchez (Janesville/Craig) led all players with 10 kills.
Lauren Grant (Antioch, IL/Antioch) hit .571 in the match posting 9 kills in 14 attempts missing just once. Setter
Christina DeGroot (Kewaskum/Kewaskum) dished out 32 assists and recorded six service aces.
Tricia Foldy (Muskego/) added five aces. Defensively,
Alyssa Bauer (Naperville, IL/Central) dug up 15 Yellowjacket attack attempts and was joined by teammate
Kelli Trautmann (Seymour/Little Chute) in double figure digs with 10.
UW-W is set to host Robert Morris Tuesday, September 21 at 7:00 pm in the Williams Center.
