UW-W Falls to Wartburg

The UW-Whitewater women's soccer team fell 7-1 to Wartburg on Sunday in Waverly, Iowa.  UW-W falls to 1-4 this season while Wartburg ups their record to 3-1.

After a couple of quick goals by the host, Christina Tooren (Hoffman Estates, IL/Hoffman Estates) scored an unassisted goal in the 20th minute to cut the deficit to 2-1 for UW-W.  It was all Wartburg after that, as the Knights went on to score five more goals in the game.

Wartburg outshot UW-W 28-7 in the game and Katy Wendt recorded a hat trick.

UW-W will look to get back on the winning track on September 15 when they open their conference season against UW-Oshkosh in a 7:00 pm match in Whitewater at Robert W. Fiskum Field.
