Mike Lewis won the triple jump and
R.J. Soderman (Muskego/Muskego) won the javelin to lead the UW-Whitewater men's track and field team to a third place finish at the Warrior Open hosted by Winona State University in Winona, Minnesota Saturday.

Team scores were: UW-La Crosse 162, Saint Cloud 127, UW-Whitewater 121.5, Wartburg 109, Luther 85.5, UW-Stout 81, UW-River Falls 31, and Saint Mary's 11.
Lewis went 44-5.5 to win the triple jump, and Soderman threw the javelin 177-4 in his winning effort.
Shaun Davis (Edgerton/Edgerton) contributed points for the Warhawks in three events. He placed third in the discus (159-5), third in the hammer throw (183-9), and seventh in the shot put (46-8.25).
Jordan Miller (Roscoe, IL/Hononegah) was also a multi-event placewinner, finishing seventh in the discus (139-4) and eighth in the shot put (46-7.25). The same was true of
Joe Schneider (Wausau, WI/Wausau), with a fifth in the shot (48-7.5) and sixth in the hammer (170-2).
UW-W collected points from four places in the high jump. Led by
Luke Buchholz (Whitewater/Whitewater)'s second place (6-6.75), and followed by
Frank Bralick (South Milwaukee/South Milwaukee) and
Tom Fisher (Green Bay/East) tied for fourth (6-4.75), with
Dave Bendall (Oconomowoc/Oconomowoc) earning eighth (6-0.75).
Other Warhawks contributing points included:
Brakken Kraker (West Allis/West Allis Central), second in the 1500 (3:59.11);
Mathias Werve (Kenosha/Tremper) close behind in fourth in the 1500 (4:01.15);
Brian Gensrick (Mequon/Homestead), fifth in the 110 hurdles (15.27); and
Mike Rossbach (Dousman/Mukwonago), eighth in the 400 (51.12). Also
Jeremie Bogard (Racine/Horlick) (1:55.20) and #Chris Kautza (1:57.27) fourth and seventh, respectively in the 800;
Carey Passer (Milton/Milton), fifth in the 400 hurdles (56.39);
Joe Bailey (Hartford/Hartford Union), eighth in the 200 (22.48); #Antwan Anderson, third in the triple jump (43-1.75);
Mike Schmitt (Manitowoc/Roncalli), eighth in the long jump (20-2.25), and
Chris Pendergast (Hartland/Hartland Arrowhead), sixth in the pole vault (14.5.5).
Next up for the Warhawks is the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship, hosted by UW-River Falls May 7-8.
