The Warhawk men's track and field team took third out of eleven teams at the Meet of the Champions this Saturday in Rock Island, Illinois on the campus of Augustana College. The Warhawks scored 118 points. In first place was Augustana College (248.50) and the second place finisher was UW-Oshkosh (166.50).

Highlights of the meet included Aron Kehoe (Monroe/Monroe), Luke Buchholz (Whitewater/Whitewater), and Joe Schneider (Wausau, WI/Wausau) taking top honors and provisionally qualifying for the National Collegiate Athletics Association Division III outdoor championships with their performances in the 800 Meter Run (Kehoe), High Jump (Buchholz), and Shot Put (Schneider). Pete Schroeder (Ripon/Ripon) beat  his previous provisional qualification with a new time of 53.74 in the 400 Meter Hurdles.

Finishing in the top spots of other events were Brian Gensnick in the 110m. hurdles (15.67), Kyle O' Rourke (Pewaukee/Pewaukee) in the 1500 Meter Run (4:07.80), Tim Prelletz (Crystal Lake, IL/Prairie Ridge) in the 400 Meter Dash (49.70), Aron Kehoe (Monroe/Monroe) in the 800 Meter Run (1:51.48), Pete Schroder in the 400 Meter Hurdles (53.74), Brian Gensrick (Mequon/Homestead) in the 200 Meter Dash (23.30), Whitewater 'A' in the 4X400 (3:17.23), Mike Schmitt (Manitowoc/Roncalli) in the Triple Jump (12.65), Shaun Davis (Edgerton/Edgerton) in the Discus Throw (54.08), #R.J. Soderman# in the Javelin Throw (52.34), Joe Schneider in the Shot Put (15.65m), Shaun Davis (Edgerton/Edgerton) in the Hammer Throw (54.35m.), Mike Schmitt (Manitowoc/Roncalli) in the Long Jump (5.99m.), Brandon Kiraly (Deerfield/Deerfield) in the Pole Vault (4.17m.), Luke Buchholz (Whitewater/Whitewater) in the High Jump (2.05m.) Dave Schneekloth (Seymour/Seymour) in the 10000 Meter Run (31:33.47), and Pat Lockington (Two Rivers/Two Rivers) in the 100 Meter Dash (11.82).

The Warhawks will compete again April 24 in the UW-Whitewater Drake Alternative.
