Schneekloth, Morehouse Lead Warhawk Depth

David Schneekloth (Seymour, WI/Seymour) and Travis Morehouse (Cottage Grove/Monona Grove) won events for UW-Whitewater at the Eastbay Invitational hosted by UW-Stevens Point Saturday, and also led a demonstration of Whitewater's depth in their events.

Team scores were:  UW-Stevens Point 153, UW-Eau Claire 128, UW-Whitewater 91.3, UW-Oshkosh 85.6, UW-Stout 46.3, UW-Platteville 39.6, Carthage 39.3, Carroll 30.8, Saint Norbert 19.3, Ripon 13, UW-La Crosse 6, Saint Mary's 1.5, and Lawrence 1.

Schneekloth won the 5000 meters in 15:32.91, just ahead of of teammate Jarrod Schwichtenberg (West Allis/West Allis Hale) in second (15:36.18), and Jordan Truttschel (Kiel/Kiel) in fourth (15:39.18).  Morehouse led the high jumpers at 6-6.75, with UW-W's Luke Buchholz (Whitewater/Whitewater) tied for second (6-4.75) and Tom Fisher (Green Bay/East) tied for fourth (6-2.75).

Whitewater also had two NCAA III provisional qualifying performances in the meet.  Ben Stringer (Assumption, IL/Central A&M) placed fourth in the weight throw, with his distance of 58-2.5 improving the PQ attained earlier this season.  The distance medley relay also earned a provisional mark, timed in 10:03.57 for fourth place.

The 4x400 relay earned a second place in 3:20.15.  Other Warhawks to earn points included Jon Fink (Muskego/Wisconsin Lutheran) (4:24.70) and Kyle O'Rourke (4:24.87), third and fourth in the mile; #C.J. Miller#, fourth in the 55 (6.54), and Pete Schroeder (Ripon/Ripon), fifth in the 400 (50.30).  Also Joseph Schneider (Wausau/Wausau West) (49-10.5) and Luke Hibner (Elmhurst, IL/York Community) (48-8), sixth and eighth in the shot put; and Antwan Anderson (Madison Memorial/Memorial), seventh in the triple jump (41-9.25).  

Times in events are also important for qualifying to participate in the WIAC championship, which limits the field based on performance standards.

UW-W will compete in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship hosted by UW-Platteville February 26-27.
