Whitewater graduate Eric Studesville was introduced as the interim head coach for the Denver Broncos Tuesday, after the firing of Josh McDaniels. Studesville was the running backs coach before being promoted.
Studesville,43, graduated UW-Whitewater with a bachelor's degree in physical education in 1988 and played defensive back for the Warhawks (1986-1988). He helped lead the Warhawks to back-to-back conference championships in 1987 and 1988 and was named to the conference first-team defense his senior year. Studesville is 6th in the UWW record book with 12 career interceptions.
Studesville started his NFL career in 1997 when he handled the Chicago Bears offensive quality control duties. He was with the Bears until 2000, where he was then hired as the running backs coach in 2001 by the New York Giants. Studesville was only with the Giants until 2003, but in 2004 he was named the running backs coach for the Buffalo Bills up until the 2009 season. In January 2010, he was then named the running backs coach for the Denver Broncos.
