The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's soccer team saw its four game win streak halted with a 5-0 loss at Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois Tuesday.

The loss marked the first time this season UW-W, 5-5 overall, has been shut out. The last time the Warhawks were blanked was twenty games, a 1-0 loss at UW-River Falls October 3, 2009.
Whitewater goalkeeper
Sam Neely (Oregon/Oregon) made three saves in the first five minutes before finally letting the first goal slip by at 7:24. Ashley Higuchi scored her third goal of the season to make it 1-0 AC.
Three Viking shots later, Gina Adduci scored her first goal of the season to make it 2-0 Augustana at 18:47.
At 31:30 Kaitlyn Kinsella scored her third of the year, and the third of the game, for Augustana to give the Vikings a 3-0 lead going in to halftime.
Augustana out-shot Whitewater 11-0 in the first half, 18-3 in the game.
Augustana made it 4-0 at 69:38 on Megan Mummert's first goal of 2010.
Whitewater put some pressure on the Augustana defense with three shots in the last seventeen minutes, including
Jessica Allemang (Wauwatosa/West)'s kick that forced a save by AC goalie Bridget McDermott, but Kinsella broke the string with her second goal of the game, and fourth of the year, at 87:57 for the final score of the match.
UW-W had given up just two goals, total, in its four match win streak. The five goals scored by the Vikings is the most the Warhawks have given up since a 7-1 loss at Wartburg September 12.
UW-W, 2-0 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, will return home to host defending league champion UW-Stevens Point Saturday, October 9 at 1:30. UW-W's Bob Fiskum Field is west of Perkins Stadium, northwest of Williams Center on campus. Free parking is adjacent to the field.
