The loss marked the first time this season UW-W, 5-5 overall, has been shut out.  The last time the Warhawks were blanked was twenty games, a 1-0 loss at UW-River Falls October 3, 2009.

Whitewater goalkeeper Sam Neely (Oregon/Oregon) made three saves in the first five minutes before finally letting the first goal slip by at 7:24.  Ashley Higuchi scored her third goal of the season to make it 1-0 AC.

Three Viking shots later, Gina Adduci scored her first goal of the season to make it 2-0 Augustana at 18:47.

At 31:30 Kaitlyn Kinsella scored her third of the year, and the third of the game, for Augustana to give the Vikings a 3-0 lead going in to halftime.

Augustana out-shot Whitewater 11-0 in the first half, 18-3 in the game.

Augustana made it 4-0 at 69:38 on Megan Mummert's first goal of 2010.

Whitewater put some pressure on the Augustana defense with three shots in the last seventeen minutes, including Jessica Allemang (Wauwatosa/West)'s kick that forced a save by AC goalie Bridget McDermott, but Kinsella broke the string with her second goal of the game, and fourth of the year, at 87:57 for the final score of the match.

UW-W had given up just two goals, total, in its four match win streak.  The five goals scored by the Vikings is the most the Warhawks have given up since a 7-1 loss at Wartburg September 12.

UW-W, 2-0 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, will return home to host defending league champion UW-Stevens Point Saturday, October 9 at 1:30.   UW-W's Bob Fiskum Field is west of Perkins Stadium, northwest of Williams Center on campus.  Free parking is adjacent to the field.
