Box score
UW-W scored first at 9:26 when Hoerchner found the back of the net off of a pass by
Emily Gerber (DeForest/DeForest). The Blugolds knotted the score just three minutes later when Gina Williams knocked one past UW-W goalkeeper
Jacqueline Piasecki (Elk Grove Village, IL/Conant).
The Warhawks regained the lead in the first half at the 28 minute mark on a goal by

UW-W held that lead until the Blugolds again tied the score at the 64:56 mark. The game remained tied after regulation.
In the first overtime, Eau Claire put a shot on goal but Piasecki stopped it to keep the game going.
With six minutes remaining in the second overtime Hoerchner scored her fifth goal of the season as she slipped one past the Blugold net minder to win the game. The goal was assisted by Tooren, her fourth of the season.
This is the first time since 2003 that the Warhawks have defeated UW-Eau Claire. The two teams have played to a tie two times since 2003; once in 2004 and once in 2009, both were double overtime games.
The last double overtime game for the women was back on November 3, 2009 when the Warhawks defeated UW-Oshkosh 2-1.
UW-W will play again on Sunday when they travel to UW-Superior for a 2:00 pm match. The Warhawks' next home game is October 30, homecoming weekend, when they face off against UW-La Crosse in a 5:00 pm match, their last regular season game.
