Emily Gerber (DeForest/DeForest) was named both UW-Whitewater's and Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletics Conference offensive player of the week for women's soccer. Wednesday she helped UW-Whitewater shut out UW-Platteville 3-0. She also had two shots that game. Then Saturday against UW-River Falls, Gerber recorded a hat trick, her second of the season. Gerber helped Whitewater take the lead when she scored her first goal at 32:16 with an assist from
Kayla Miller (Racine/Case). Her second goal came at 74:32 and was unassisted. With an assist from
Jessica Allemang (Wauwatosa/West) at 81:57, Gerber completed her hat trick. Gerber's three goals give her 42 during her career as a Warhawk, placing her second on Whitewater's all-time list.
Kelsey Strohm (Madison/Memorial) was named UW-Whitewater's defensive player of the week for women's soccer. Wednesday she helped Whitewater shut out UW-Platteville and limited their offensive to single digit shots. This game was UW-Whitewater's fourth shut out of the season. Strohm also helped the Warhawks defeat UW-River Falls Saturday 4-2.
UW-Whitewater will travel to UW-Eau Claire for a match Saturday, October 23 at 2:00 pm.
