Dan Montanye (Mukwonago/Mukwonago) was named UW-Whitewater's offensive player of the week for men's soccer. Montanye scored the game winning goal, unassisted at 17:36, October 6th against Ripon College. This gave UW-Whitewater the win over Ripon 1-0. It was his fourth goal of the season and second game winner. His goal came on the Warhawks' first shot of the game. The Warhawks' are ranked eighth in the National Soccer Coaches Association Divison III poll and undefeated with a 8-0-2 record.
Matt Mikesell (Waukesha/Kettle Moraine) was named UW-Whitewater's and the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletics Conference defensive player of the week for men's soccer. Mikesell had a save on a goal during a penalty kick; preserving UW-Whitewater's 1-0 lead and win against Ripon College last Wednesday. This gave the Warhawks' their sixth shutout of the season and Mikesell's third. His record as goalkeeper is now 6-0. Whitewater has given up only four goals this season, and two of them came in a single game (2-2 tie with Clarke University).
