The UW-Whitewater volleyball team, ranked eleventh in the American Volleyball Coaches Association poll, improves to 4-0 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with a 3-1 win over UW-Stout (25-14, 25-16, 26-28, 25-20) in the annual Dig Pink: Breast Cancer Awareness match.

The Warhawks pounded down double-digit kills in each set of the match posting 16 kills in each of the first two sets and recording a .433 hitting percentage in the opening set. UW-W had over a 20 kill advantage in the match with 59 to Stout's 36. The teams were even in the blocking category but Whitewater recorded 13 aces to just four by the Blue Devils.
Caitlin Hogan (New London/New London) led the Warhawks at the net with 14 kills, a solo block and an assist block. Hogan added five service aces in the match. Three other Warhawks posted double figure kills including
Sofia Sanchez (Janesville/Craig) with 13 and
Katy Krajnak (Racine/Case) and
Shaela Hayden (Harvard, IL/Harvard) each had 11.
Tricia Foldy (Muskego/) contributed with five aces from the service line.
Alyssa Bauer (Naperville, IL/Central) led players defensively with 21 digs.
UW-W improves to 14-4 this season and Stout drops to 1-16.
Whitewater is set to host UW-River Falls Saturday, September 2 at noon in the Kris Russell Volleyball Arena in Williams Center.
