UW-Whitewater, ranked seventeenth in the American Volleyball Coaches Association top 25 poll, fell to eighth ranked Washington University in the last match of the Asics Invitational hosted by WashU in St. Louis, Missouri. UW-W defeated Pacific Lutheran, Concordia and Ohio Northern earlier in the weekend as they put up a record of 3-1 at the invitational.

Leading the Warhawks at the net, Keri Klotzbuecher (Clintonville/Clintonville) pounded down 17 kills. She was joined in double digit kills by Melissa Zuleger (Little Chute/Little Chute), Sofie Sanchez, and Caitlin Hogan (New London/New London) with 14, 11 and 10 respectively. Libero, Alyssa Bauer (Naperville, IL/Central) headed the team defensively with 25 digs. Klotzbuecher added 12 more and Kelli Trautmann (Seymour/Little Chute) helped with 10. 

The loss drops UW-W to 8-2 on the season as the Bears up their mark to 8-2. 

The Warhawks come back to Wisconsin with a match at UW-Stout on Friday, September 18 at 7:00 pm.
