Whitewater got off to a good start in the first set going on a 10-3 run to take the lead 15-8 and force a Green Knight timeout. Nothing could stop the Warhawk momentum as they rolled to a 25-17 first set victory.
The second set followed suit with UW-W going on several small runs to build a four point lead 13-9. The Warhawks then went on an 8-4 run to go up 21-13. The deficit proved to be too much for St. Norbert to muster a comeback as Whitewater took set two 25-16.
UW-W was forced to take a timeout with the score tied at seven apiece in the start of the third set. The break in play was just what the Warhawks needed to get back on track as they went on an 8-3 run out of the timeout and then put together another 7-4 run to increase their lead to nine 22-13. Whitewater scored three of the next four points to take the set 25-14 and the match.
Keri Klotzbuecher (Clintonville/Clintonville) and
Melissa Zuleger (Little Chute/Little Chute) led the Warhawks at the net pounding down eight kills each with Zuleger adding three assist blocks.
