The UW-Whitewater volleyball team, ranked 10
th in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association poll, maintained their spot in second place in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with a 3-0 (25-18, 25-16, 25-12) victory over UW-Stevens Point on Wednesday in Stevens Point. The 'Hawks improve to 19-5 overall and 4-2 in the WIAC and the Pointers fall to 10-14 overall and 2-4 in the WIAC.

The Warhawks victory over the Pointers is the second time this season UW-W defeated UW-SP 3-0. The first time these two teams played, back on September 1, did not count toward the conference standings.
In Wednesday's match the Warhawks were led by
Keri Klotzbuecher (Clintonville/Clintonville) who pounded down ten kills.
Alyse Karls (Dane/Lodi) assisted 32 times in the match that featured a total of 40 Warhawk kills. Defensively,
Alyssa Bauer (Naperville, IL/Central) dug up eleven balls while Karls chipped in eight digs.
UW-W had six service aces in the match with Bauer and Klotzbuecher leading the way with two apiece. Karls and
Caitlin Hogan (New London/New London) also notched one ace apiece.
The Warhawks had an attacking percentage of 34.9 in the match in comparison to the Pointers 10.8 percent.
The Warhawks will host two matches this weekend. UW-Eau Claire will be in Whitewater on Friday night for a match beginning at 7:00 pm and UW-Superior will be in Whitewater on Saturday for a noon match.
