The UW-Whitewater women's volleyball team finished 3-1 at the University of La Verne Leopard Invitational after wins over Nazareth College 3-0 (25-16, 25-22, 25-17) and New York University 3-0 (32-30, 25-18, 25-13) Saturday. The Warhawks improve their record to 18-5 with the two wins Saturday.
Match One vs. Nazareth College
Box Score
Megan Peterson (Burlington/Burlington) led the Warhawks with eight kills.
Keri Klotzbuecher (Clintonville/Clintonville) and
Sofia Sanchez (Janesville/Craig) added seven more kills apiece.
Caitlin Hogan (New London/New London),
Melissa Zuleger (Little Chute/Little Chute) and Sanchez all had a part in nine blocks with each recording three and Hogan added two service aces.
Defensively,
Alyssa Bauer (Naperville, IL/Central) led UW-W with ten digs.
Christina DeGroot (Kewaskum/Kewaskum) dished out most of the assists with 20.
Match Two vs. New York University

Leading at the net in the second match was Zuleger and Hogan with 12 and 10 kills respectively with Hogan adding five aces. Peterson recorded six blocks (one solo) in the win.
Bauer led Whitewater defensively with 23 digs and
Alyse Karls (Dane/Lodi) dished out 30 assists.
The Warhawks return to Wisconsin for a match against UW-Stevens Point Wednesday, October 14 at 7:00 pm.
The next home match for UW-W is set for Friday, October 16 in the Williams Center volleyball arena at 7:00 pm. The match is designated Parents and Senior Night.
