Shinhoster was named a first team All-American at 174 pounds by the National Wrestling Coaches Association in 2019-20. He claimed the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title and NCAA Upper Midwest Regional runner-up to help the Warhawk wrestling team finish as WIAC runner-up and third place at the regional tournament. Shinhoster finished the year with a 28-3 record and 19 pins, ninth-most in NCAA Division III, and was an NWCA Scholar All-American for the second straight year. He entered the 2020 NCAA Championship as the No. 4 seed in the 174-pound bracket before the national tournament was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A two-year member of the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll, Shinhoster is majoring in general management.
