Balanganayi, a defensive lineman for the UW-Whitewater football team, was named WIAC Defensive Player of the Year and D3football.com West Region Defensive Player of the Year in 2019. The second team D3football.com All-American posted 42 tackles, including 12.0 for a loss and 9.0 sacks, in 11 games, helping the Warhawks win the WIAC championship and finish as NCAA Division III national runner-up. Balanganayi was one of 36 Division III finalists for the Cliff Harris Award, which is presented to the nation’s top small college defensive player. He was a member of the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll in 2017-18. Balanganayi is majoring in computer science.
