Rice qualified for the NCAA Championship for the second straight season at 141 pounds before the national tournament was canceled. He was named a first team All-American by the National Wrestling Coaches Association after posting a 32-1 mark during the season and earning the No. 4 seed in the national bracket. Rice, a three-time Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference champion and two-time NCAA Upper Midwest Regional finalist, finished his career ranked sixth in program history in total wins (112). He was a four-time WIAC Athlete of the Week honoree and a member of the WIAC All-Sportsmanship Team in 2020. Rice is majoring in criminology.
