Fassbender topped a field of 37 runners to win the 5,000-meter run Saturday and help the No. 11 Warhawks place third at the Midwest ELITE Invitational at Kachel Fieldhouse. His time of 14:26.33 currently leads the WIAC and ranks third in NCAA Division III. Fassbender's mark was less than five seconds off a school record pace.
