Football – Defense

Cal Durni, Junior, Defensive Line

Durni enjoyed a big day behind the line of scrimmage Saturday, collecting 2.5 sacks for a loss of 18 yards and four total tackles to help the Warhawks to a 14-0 shutout victory over UW-Stout at Perkins Stadium. His first tackle of the game on the game’s opening drive stopped the Blue Devils on third down to force a punt. Durni turned in a half-sack later in the quarter on third down to force another UW-Stout punt and set up UW-Whitewater with field position in Blue Devils territory. He added a sack late in the second quarter to stall a UW-Stout drive near midfield, and sacked Jay Alston for a loss of 13 yards in the fourth quarter to halt another drive near midfield.
