SPORTS MEDICINE TEAM
The UW-Whitewater Sports Medicine team consists of five NATABOC certified Athletic Trainers, an orthopedic team surgeon and a team Sports Medicine Certified Physician. In addition we provide onsite services from of our Mercyhealth Whitewater Physical Therapy partners.
 
The Sports Medicine Department at UW-Whitewater works cooperatively with Mercyhealth Systems to provide our student athletes with the best care available. Our team physicians, physical therapists, and a selection of our athletic training staff are all a part of the Mercyhealth partnership.

dr fideler
Dr. Bradley Fideler, a native of Iowa, attended the University of Iowa for both his undergraduate degree and medical schooling. Following medical school, he completed an internship at the University of Southern California in Categorical Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. Fideler stayed at the University of Southern California for his residency in Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. Fideler then completed a fellowship in Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic in Inglewood, CA. As an assistant team physician, he worked with a number of professional organizations, including the Los Angeles Dodgers, California Angels, Los Angeles Rams, Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Kings, Anaheim Mighty Ducks, and the PGA/Senior PGA tour, in addition to working with a variety of athletic teams at the University of Southern California. Dr. Fideler's affiliations at Mercy Health System include the Beloit Snappers, Whitewater, Elkhorn, Delavan-Darien, and Big Foot High Schools, as well as UW-Whitewater. He earned honorary membership from the Wisconsin Athletic Trainers Association in 2022. Dr. Fideler currently resides in Fontana with his wife, Rebecca, and three daughters, Kathryn, Elizabeth, and Emily.
    
Dennys Moldonado
Dr. Dennys Maldonado, Dr. Dennys Maldonado is employed by Mercyhealth in Janesville. He is Board Certified in Family Medicine and Sports Medicine. He received his undergraduate degree from the University Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He graduated from Ross University School of Medicine. In addition to providing medical coverage for the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Warhawks, his services are utilized by the Beloit Snappers, Janesville Jets, and Milton High School.

Dr. Maldonado and his wife, Justine, reside in Janesville with their three children; Olivia, Ben, and Amanda.
     
UWW soccer mugs. Steve Hillmer joined the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in the fall of 1999 as an athletic trainer. In fall 2005, he was promoted to the Head Athletic Trainer. He received his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Madison followed by a master's degree in Exercise Science from the University of Iowa. Steven is a State of Wisconsin Licensed Athletic Trainer and certified member of the National Athletic Trainer's Association.
     
UWW Tennis mugs. Emma Kopp joined UW-Whitewater as an athletic trainer in August 2018. She earned her bachelor's in Athletic Training at Carroll University in 2016 and her master's in leadership studies from Marquette in 2018. She served as an athletic training intern at Marquette and as an athletic training student at Carroll.
     
UWW Tennis mugs. Whitney Williams joined the UW-Whitewater Athletic Training staff in August 2021 as an athletic trainer. Williams comes to UW-Whitewater after serving as Athletic Trainer at Albion College in Albion, Mich., from 2018-21. She graduated from the Winona State University in 2015 with a degree in athletic training. She earned her master's in kinesiology and recreation with emphasis in athletic training from Illinois State University in 2018.
     
Kelly Loudon joined the UW-Whitewater Athletic Training staff in August of 2023 as an athletic trainer. Loudon most recently completed a master's of science in athletic training from UW-Madison in 2023 where she worked with the Badger football, men's and women's hockey and women's basketball programs. Loudon received her undergraduate degree in biology from Beloit College in 2021. 
Grace Nys Grace Nys joined the UW-Whitewater Sports Medicine staff in August of 2025. Nys comes to UW-Whitewater from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. As a Phoenix, Nys assisted the women's volleyball and softball teams as their athletic trainer. Nys obtained her master's degree in Atheltic Training from UW-Stevens Point. While there, Nys worked with the Football, Men's Basketball, Track & Field, Men's Hockey, and Wrestling teams. She also did research & presented a CASE study on Exercise-Induced Anaphylaxis.
Max Schnieder Max Schneider joined the UW-Whitewater Sports Medicine staff in August of 2025. Schneider earned his master of Science in Athletic Training from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in May of 2025. He also holds a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from the UW-Madison. During his time at UW-Madison, Schneider worked with the Men's & Women's Basketball teams, as well as the swim and dive teams. Most recently, he assisted the Badger men's hockey program as part of their Athletic Training Team.
