Trevor Roznowski enters his first year on the UW-Whitewater Track & Field Coaching Staff for the 2024-25 academic year as the Throws Coach for the Warhawks. Roznowski will also serve as an Academic Advisor in the Academic Advising & Exploration Center.
Roznowski graduated from Ferris State University where he earned his bachelor's in Mathematics Secondary Education with a minor in Chemistry Education. During his undergraduate career, Roznowski competed as a 4-Year NCAA Division II Student-Athlete for the Bulldog Track and Field team in Shot Put, Discus, Hammer Throw, and Weight Throw. He earned Honorable Mention All-GLIAC Honors in Discus at the 2021 GLIAC Outdoor Championships and ranks 5th All-Time in FSU Men’s Discus.
Roznowski’s passion for education and track and field led him to begin his career as a mathematics teacher and coach at Alpena High School in his hometown of Alpena, MI. He served three years as Head Girls Track and Field Coach for the Wildcats while also leading The Woods Indoor Track Club/Up North Throws and the JV Football team. In these roles, Roznowski emphasized intentional workouts, team cohesiveness, and athlete well-being. In his time at Alpena, Roznowski coached multiple Michigan State Qualifiers (Indoor and Outdoor), two National Qualifiers, four All-State Athletes, a State Champion in Boys Discus, and a State Champion in Boys Weight Throw.
Roznowski’s coaching career began working local throwing camps in Northern Michigan and serving as an Assistant Coach for Alpena High School. He progressed to found Up North Throws, a throwing club and technical analysis platform that enabled him to work with and highlight the accomplishments of Northern Michigan throwers and beyond. In addition, Roznowski has annually offered the Sunrise Side Throws & Vault Clinic to local athletes while also coaching at the Elite Throws Camps at Allegheny College in Pennsylvania. He credits incredible supporters, coaches, and mentors for their guidance of him as a growing coach, educator, and leader.
Roznowski is a USA Track & Field Level 1 Certified Coach, Certified Michigan Mathematics and Chemistry Educator, Certified K-12 Michigan School Administrator, and Registered High School Basketball Official. He also earned a Master’s of Education in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education in 2024.
Roznowski is passionate about building relationships with students and athletes to support their long-term goals and aspirations. He is ecstatic to join the Warhawk family and get to work supporting the best interests of student-athletes on and off the track!
