Keith Scheckel enters his fifth season as an assistant coach for the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater volleyball team in 2022. He will work primarily with the team's setters and defensive specialists, as well as the recruiting coordinator.
Scheckel returns to UW-Whitewater after three seasons as an assistant coach at Trinity College in Hartford, Conn. He served as recruiting coordinator and director of social media, worked primarily with the setters and offensive coordination and assisted with all other day-to-day operations for the Bantams during his tenure.
Scheckel served for three years as a boys' volleyball coach at South Windsor (Conn.) High School, help leading the team to one state championship, a runner-up finish, and a third place finish. Scheckel was an assistant coach at Indian Trail High School in Kenosha in 2012. He currently serves as an advisory board member for Southport Volleyball Club in Kenosha. Scheckel previously served as a head coach for the club, working with the 15-, 16- and 17-year-old boys teams in 2012-2015.
During Scheckel's time as an undergraduate student at UW-Whitewater, he was a four-year member and two-year president for the UW-Whitewater men’s club volleyball team.
Scheckel will also serve as an instructor for the university’s Department of Health, Human Performance, Recreation and Coaching.
Scheckel graduated from UW-Whitewater in 2012 with a bachelor’s in business administration. In 2019, he graduated from UW-Whitewater with a master's of science in education with an emphasis in athletic administration.
