Jeff Schmidt enters his seventh year as an assistant coach for the UW-Whitewater golf team in 2022-23.
Schmidt, who attended UW-Whitewater for his undergraduate and graduate degrees, serves as head boys and girls golf coach at Jefferson High School.
Since beginning as the boys coach at Jefferson in 2000, Schmidt has led the Eagles to multiple conference championships, regional titles and individual berths in the state tournament.
Schmidt started the Jefferson girls program as a varsity sport in 2014 and led the Eagles to three straight conference championships (2015, 2016, 2017).
Schmidt, who was also a member of the Jefferson High School football coaching staff from 1996-2004, is currently teaching physical education and health at West Elementary in the Jefferson School District.
Schmidt graduated from UW-Whitewater in 2001 with a bachelor's in physical education and health. He earned his master's in curriculum and instruction from UW-Whitewater in 2008.
Schmidt and his wife, Tiffany, a doctor of pharmacy, reside in Jefferson and have a daughter, Payton (born in 2005), and a son, Cale (born in 2007).
