Emma Kopp joined the UW-Whitewater sports medicine staff as an athletic trainer in August 2018.
Kopp most recently served as an athletic training intern at Marquette University, working primarily with the men’s and women’s tennis, women’s cross country and women’s track and field programs during her two years at the NCAA Division I institution.

As an undergraduate at Carroll University, Kopp worked with the Pioneers’ football, volleyball and men’s soccer teams. She also served in stints working with the Marquette women’s soccer team, the Muskego High School football team and in the outpatient clinic at Froedtert Sports Medicine Center. She also volunteered as an athletic trainer at the first and second rounds of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament at the BMO Harris Bradley Center in 2017.

A native of nearby Lake Geneva, Kopp was a four-year letter winner for the Carroll women’s basketball team from 2012-16, serving as a captain during her senior season.

Kopp is a licensed athletic trainer (LAT) in Wisconsin and a certified athletic trainer (ATC). She graduated from Carroll with a bachelor’s in athletic training in 2016 and will earn her master’s in leadership studies from Marquette in August 2018.

Kopp is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA), Great Lakes Athletic Trainers Association (GLATA) and Wisconsin Athletic Trainers Association (WATA).

Kopp’s position is funded through UW-Whitewater’s partnership with Mercyhealth, a regional health system with over 700 employed physician partners, seven hospitals and 85 primary and specialty care locations throughout 50 northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin communities.
