Leann Sullivan

Leann (Eimermann) Sullivan enters her 12th season as head bowling coach at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 2022-23.

A two-time National Tenpin Coaches Association Division II/III Coach of the Year, Sullivan has led the Warhawks to a pair of third place finishes at the NCAA Championships, which includes all divisions of competition. UW-Whitewater has earned three bids to the national tournament.

Under Sullivan's leadership, the Warhawks finished the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons ranked sixth in the final NTCA Top 20 national poll. UW-Whitewater was ranked No. 1 in the Division II/III poll in 2014-15.

The Warhawks earned their first-ever berth in the NCAA Championships in 2013, placing seventh.

Sullivan played an integral role in starting the Central Intercollegiate Bowling Conference (CIBC), which debuted in the 2019-20 season. The Warhawks claimed the inaugural CIBC championship, and junior Mary Conneely was named CIBC Player of the Year.

Over the last nine seasons, the Warhawks have accumulated seven All-America honors. Katie Zwiefelhofer was named NTCA Division II/III Player of the Year in 2013-14, and Amanda Van Duyn was tabbed Division II/III Rookie of the Year during the same season. Van Duyn was selected 2015-16 NTCA Division II/III Player of the Year. In 2021-22, UW-W swept the NTCA's top two Division III honors as Caitlin Mertins garnered Division III National Player of the Year and Kelly Whipple earned Division III National Rookie of the Year.

Sullivan was a four-year letterwinner for the Warhawks from 2006-10. Sullivan was captain of the UW-Whitewater team that earned a berth in the 2010 United States Bowling Congress national tournament, where it placed 10th out of 16 teams in the position rounds and advanced to the second round of the head-to-head competition. She also contributed to the second-highest team single game total (five bowlers, one game) in school history, a 1,095 on Nov. 2, 2008, at the Fairleigh Dickinson Invitational, and the school record Baker game, a 261 against Saint Peter's College at the Kutztown (Pa.) Invite on Jan. 31, 2010.

Sullivan worked as a junior league coordinator and marketing intern at King Pin Lanes in Campbellsport, Wis., while in high school and college (2003-2010). During the 2010-11 school year, she coached the Campbellsport High School boys team to an eighth-place finish in the Wisconsin state high school tournament. At the same time, she was the assistant manager and marketing coordinator for Dan's King Pin Family Fun Center in Mayville, Wis., where she worked with local businesses and organizations, set up leagues, supervised part-time help and assisted with food sales.

Sullivan graduated with a bachelor's in business administration, with a major in marketing.  She was a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee at UW-Whitewater.
