University of Wisconsin-Whitewater head women’s basketball coach Keri Carollo has announced the hiring of Brooke Trewyn as graduate assistant coach starting with the 2020-21 season.
Trewyn was a four-year standout for the Warhawks from 2014-18, earning Women’s Basketball Coaches Association All-America accolades as a senior in 2017-18. She was a two-time first team All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference selection and two-time D3hoops.com All-Central Region honoree. Trewyn finished her career among the top 10 all time in field goals attempted (1,139), scoring (1,300 points), double-doubles (15), rebounding (660), free throws made (325), 3-pointers attempted (404), field goals made (434) and free throws attempted (421).
Trewyn helped UW-Whitewater claim back-to-back WIAC Tournament championships – the first two in program history – as well as the 2017-18 conference regular season title. During her career, the Warhawks made three trips to the NCAA Tournament, including two to the second round.
Trewyn spent the 2019-20 season as graduate assistant coach for the Aurora University women’s basketball team. Her primary responsibilities included travel planning, practice production and recruiting, and she was also head coach of the program’s JV and scout teams.
Trewyn also previously served as Assistant Director of Operations for Sports Enhancement Academy and as head coach of the sixth-grade girls team for the Wisconsin Academy basketball program. She was also a camp coach for UW-Whitewater’s Girls Basketball Camps during summers from 2013-17.
A native of Whitewater, Trewyn graduated with a bachelor’s in physical education with emphasis in health, human performance and recreation and a minor in sport management in 2018.
Trewyn will pursue a master’s in professional studies (higher education leadership) with emphasis in athletic administration at UW-Whitewater.
