Amy Zelinger

Amy Zelinger came to UW-Whitewater in the 2003-2004 season and currently serves as associate head coach. She moved up from graduate assistant coach to an on-staff position prior to the 2005-2006 season, and was promoted to associate head coach before the 2012-13 campaign.

Zelinger coordinates the team's full-court defense and works with the guards. Off the court, she handles the team's day-to-day operations, including travel arrangements.

Since Zelinger joined the staff, the Warhawks have accumulated five Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championships, two WIAC Tournament titles and 10 NCAA Division III Tournament appearances, including three trips to the national semifinals. UW-Whitewater finished as national runner-up in 2013, and in third place in both 2008 and 2014.

Following the 2017-18 season, when UW-Whitewater swept the WIAC regular season and tournament championships for the first time in program history, Zelinger and the rest of the assistant coaching staff was named Division III Women's Staff of the Year by the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association.

A 2003 UW-Stout graduate, Zelinger served as a student assistant coach for the Blue Devils during the 2003-2004 season. She played four years for UW-Stout, even earning a starting berth in several games as a first-year player. Zelinger helped Stout to winning records all four years, including the WIAC title and a NCAA III tournament berth in 2002. She was a first team All-WIAC guard in both 2001 and 2002. Zelinger is UW-Stout's all-time leader in steals.

Zelinger and UW-Whitewater head coach Keri Carollo worked together several years, back to when Carollo was an assistant at UW-Stout while Zelinger played for the Blue Devils.

Zelinger also serves as an instructor in the department of health, physical education, recreation and coaching and as assistant director of athletic communications.
