Dave Hahn returns to UW-Whitewater in 2018-19 for his 19th year as an assistant coach with the men's and women's track and field program. He will specialize in throws.

While coaching the Warhawks, Hahn’s student-athletes have captured numerous conference and national honors. Seven individual national champions, four national runners-up, and seven third-place national finishers have been produced under Hahn's tutelage. Overall, male and female student-athletes have garnered 71 All-America honors since he joined the staff in 2001.

In 2004, Jeremy Wendt captured national titles in the indoor weight throw and outdoor hammer throw.  Wendt’s performances established NCAA Division III records in both the weight throw and hammer and also earned him the title of “Field Event Athlete of the Meet” at the 2004 NCAA Outdoor Championships.  Wendt also met the 2004 Olympic Trials qualifying standard in the hammer throw during the 2004 season. In 2017, Theron Baumann was named "Field Event Athlete of the Meet" at the NCAA Outdoor Championships after winning the shot put and placing third in the discus throw.

Hahn has helped Warhawk throwers record 23 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championships and set two conference records.

Hahn graduated Magna Cum Laude from UW-Platteville in 2002 with a degree in elementary and middle-level education. He was a four-year letterwinner and four-time All-American in the hammer throw and 35-pound weight throw during his career at UW-Platteville.

In addition to his coaching duties, Hahn works as an admissions representative for UW-Whitewater.
