Coach Dunn is in his third year with the UW-Whitewater coaching staff. His responsibilities will be coaching the pole vault. Originally from South Dakota, Adam competed for St. Cloud State University for the first half of his track career and finished up the last two years with the University of South Dakota. “Competing at two Division II schools gave me an understanding of the different coaching techniques and a wider knowledge base when it comes to the vault.” Adam brings various coaching expertise having working with multi-event athletes as well as coaching high school athletes at Rapid City Central High School in South Dakota.

While at the University of South Dakota Adam was coached under Lucky Huber who also coaches Olympic athlete Derek Miles. “I was able to be exposed to some of the top Olympic pole-vaulters in the country it was a great experience to listen to the stories, talk with the athletes, and watch and learn how they moved through a practice. It was a great way to see how different styles can produce great heights.”
 
As an athlete at USD Adam was part of the North Central Conference 2004 Championship team. Adams top mark was a third place finish while competing in the North Central Conference.

Adam graduated from the University of South Dakota in May 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Alcohol & Drug Abuse Studies. Since this time Adam has provided counseling and prevention services to all age groups while in South Dakota and worked with youth in Eagle River, Alaska.

Adam currently lives in Madison with his wife Emily who is a resident physician at UW Hospital.
