Schueffner is a two-time winner of the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association NCAA Division III Men's Assistant Coach of the Year (indoor 2013, outdoor 2015). During his first four seasons at UW-Whitewater, he helped student-athletes earn 43 NCAA DIII Qualifying marks, 26 All-America accolades, 10 school records and three national championships (Marcus Smith - 2013 men’s outdoor triple jump, Lexie Sondgeroth - 2015 women's indoor long jump, Robert Starnes - 2015 men's outdoor high jump).

Prior to joining the UW-Whitewater staff, Schueffner spent one year with the University of Wisconsin men’s track and field program, focusing on multi-events, jumps and hurdles.

From 2006-10, Schueffner was an assistant coach for men’s and women’s track and field at Seattle University. While at Seattle U., Schueffner coached sprints, hurdles, relays and jumps, and recruited student-athletes who went on to break nearly every school record in both indoor and outdoor track and field, culminating with two NCAA Division I Great West conference champions (400-meter dash and 400-meter hurdles). He also assisted Seattle University in fundraising, alumni events, camps, strength and conditioning and cross country training camp.

Prior to his time in Seattle, Schueffner assisted the women's track and field team at the University of Wisconsin (2004-06), focusing on sprints, hurdles and high jump. Before his stint with the Badgers, Schueffner spent five seasons at Madison LaFollette High School (2000-04), where he was part of three conference championships and one WIAA state championship (2002).

A UW-Whitewater alumnus, Schueffner lettered four times for the Warhawks from 1993-96 and was a two-time All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference selection. He finished second in the 600-meter run at both the 1994 and 1996 WIAC Indoor Championships, and third in the 800-meter run at the 1996 WIAC Outdoor Championships. Schueffner was UW-Whitewater's team captain in 1996, and earned the WIAC's Max Sparger Scholar-Athlete Award in 1996.

Schueffner received a bachelor's in graphic design from UW-Whitewater and a master's in sports administration and leadership from Seattle University. He holds a USATF Level I certification, has written for the USTFCCCA and has spoken numerous times at WISTCA (Wisconsin) and WSTFCA (Washington) track and field conventions.

Schueffner resides in Middleton with his wife Kerrie and daughters Lilly (6 years old) and Cora (4).
