Lou Chapman

Lou Chapman enters his third year as an assistant coach for the Warhawks in 2019-20 in his second stint with the team.

Chapman previously worked at UW-Whitewater as associate head coach and assistant lecturer under Miller from 2011-13. He worked in all areas of the program, including academic progress, recruiting, scouting, travel coordination and camps while teaching physical education classes for the Department of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Coaching.
 
In 2012, the Warhawks claimed the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular season title and the program's third-ever national championship. UW-Whitewater also won the 2013 WIAC Tournament title during Chapman's first stint.
 
Chapman was also a volunteer assistant coach for the Warhawks during the 2008-09 season, when the team reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
 
Chapman owned Lou Chapman Basketball Services, a comprehensive basketball training program and curriculum for youth, from 2013-17. He was involved in running Nike camps and Jr. NBA camps through his company.
 
Chapman's previous basketball experiences include head boys basketball coach at West Allis Central High School (2010-11), coordinator of operations and assistant men's basketball coach at Loyola University Chicago (2009-10) and head boys basketball coach at Milwaukee Bay View High School (2007-08).

Chapman played collegiately at the University of North Carolina-Wilmington and was a member of their 2001-2002 Colonial Athletic Association regular season and tournament championship team. The Seahawks beat USC in the first round of the NCAA tournament, but lost in the round of 32 to Indiana. He finished his playing career at Missouri Western State University and was a member of their 2002-2003 conference tournament championship team, which also qualified for the NCAA Division II championship tournament.

In addition to his coaching responsibilities at UW-Whitewater, Chapman teaches in the Department of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Coaching.

Chapman graduated from Missouri Western State in 2003 with a bachelor’s in interdisciplinary studies.
 
Chapman resides in Milwaukee. He is the father of Donald Jr. (age 15) and Dalayna (14).
