Jacob Gritzmacher

Jacob Gritzmacher enters his third year as an assistant coach at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 2017-18. He will work primarily in recruiting.

Gritzmacher previously served as a graduate assistant coach at Longwood (Va.) University from 2013-15. He was a student assistant coach at UW-Whitewater from 2011-13. Gritzmacher was also an assistant coach with the Wisconsin Playground Warriors' Grassroots Program from 2011-12.

At Longwood University, Gritzmacher was involved in all assets of the NCAA Division I program, a member of the Big South Conference. He organized and arranged all travel, oversaw academics, coordinated film for games, planned and coordinated official visits and instructed individual workouts with men’s basketball student-athletes.

During his time as a student assistant, Gritzmacher assisted in all phases of the program at UW-Whitewater. The Warhawks compiled Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference titles in 2012 and 2013 and claimed the 2012 NCAA Division III national championship. He helped with practice preparation, broke down film for scouting, coordinated video for practice and games, maintained digital video editing equipment and helped with recruiting efforts both on and off campus.

Gritzmacher also served as a recruiting coordinator for the Wisconsin Playground Warriors, managing a recruiting database for all age levels. He was responsible for video at all events for the 15U-17U levels, handled scheduling and coordinated administrative needs and other duties as assigned by the executive director of the organization.

The West Allis native earned a bachelor's in human health and performance with an emphasis in recreation and a minor in coaching from UW-Whitewater in 2013. He is finishing his Masters of Education with an emphasis in Community and College Counseling from Longwood.

Gritzmacher has worked numerous summer camps, including those conducted at the University of Wisconsin and Marquette University. He served as a student manager for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men’s basketball program from 2009-11.
