Ryan Bendixen, in his 26th season coaching gymnastics, began his role as a full time assistant for UW-Whitewater in 2007. He enters his 11th season on the Warhawks' staff in 2017.
Bendixen brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Warhawk gymnastics program with a main focus on the vault and uneven bars. Ryan helped lead UW-Whitewater to back-to-back national titles in 2012, 2013 and 2014. He has coached seven individual national champions during his time at UW-Whitewater, including Justine Weyer (vault - 2008 and 2010), Ashley George (bars - 2009), Cici Talcott (bars - 2013), Allyse Dieringer (bars - Â 2012 and 2014), Courtney Pickett (vault - 2014), Katie Fiorilli (all-around - 2014 and 2015, bars - 2015 and vault - 2015 and 2016) and Mackenzie Smith (bars - 2016).
Bendixen's Coaching Highlights:
- Four-time NACGC North Central Region Assistant Coach of the Year (2008, 2010, 2011 and 2014)
- 13Â Individual National Championships (Ashley George-UB 2009, Justine Weyer V-2008 and 2010, Allyse Dieringer-UB 2012 and 2014, Cici Talcott-UB 2013, Katie Fiorilli-AA 2014 and 2015, V 2015, UB 2015 and 2016, Courtney Pickett-V 2014, Mackenzie Smith-UB 2016)
- 11 WIAC Individual Championships
- 32 All-Americans (70 combined All-America honors)
Bendixen previously coached for UW-Whitewater from 1995-2002 while completing his bachelor's in elementary education with a minor in coaching.Â
Bendixen coached the girls' gymnastics team levels 4-10 at M & M for 11 years and the boys' gymnastics team levels 4-10 at M & M for eight years. Every year at M & M, he coached a state and regional champion as well as an individual national qualifier. Bendixen also currently works at TriCounty Paving in Madison as Project Manager.
