Peterson Pierre enters his first season as an assistant coach for the UW-Whitewater gymnastics team in 2018.
Pierre will work primarily with student-athletes competing on vault and uneven parallel bars.
Pierre most recently served as a volunteer assistant coach at Utah State University, a Division I program in Logan, Utah. He assisted with spotting and light instruction on vault, bars and floor exercise during the 2016-17 year, helping the Aggies finish sixth at the NCAA Regional in Seattle.
Pierre served as head varsity coach for the gymnastics program at Woodbury High School in Woodbury, Minn., from 2013-16.
Pierre worked gymnastics camps at UW-Whitewater over the summer and has worked several other college camps over the past five years, including UCLA (2017), Utah State (2016-17), Southern Utah (2017), Hamline (2011-14, 2017) and UW-Stout (2014-17).
A native of Cottage Grove, Minn., Pierre worked at his alma mater, Park High School, for four years as a spotter and coach for the gymnastics team. He was also an assistant coach in the football and track and field programs at Woodbury High School from 2014-16.
Pierre currently resides in Janesville.
