Allison Annala enters her 11th season as an assistant coach for the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater gymnastics team in 2021.
Annala was named National Collegiate Gymnastics Association West Region Assistant Coach of the Year in 2019 after helping the Warhawks reach the national championship meet for the 13th straight year and finish among the top three for the 10th consecutive season.
A native of Oswego, Ill., Annala was a four-year member of the Warhawks from 2006-10. UW-Whitewater recorded two third-place finishes at the NCGA Championships and posted its first-ever Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title during her career. Annala earned NCGA Academic All-America accolades in 2010, and was a five-time WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll member. She was named the team's Most Improved Gymnast following the 2007 season.
In addition to her coaching duties, Annala is the director of the Gymhawks youth gymnastics program and is an instructor in the university's Department of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Coaching.
Annala earned her master's in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis in health, human performance, recreation and coaching from UW-Whitewater in 2011.
