UW-Whitewater gymnastics utilizes several facilities in Williams Center, the building named for former University president Robert Williams, 1946-62. Â The team practices in a gym dedicated solely for gymnastics activities, which includes the intercollegiate team, camps, physical education classes, and a community program.
The gymnastics facility is updated every year to meet NCAA standards, making it one of the best Division III facilities in the Midwest. The gym has a new floor exercise, six Elite balance beams, four TAC/10 LZT vaults, a Resilite pit for vaulting, tumbling, uneven bars and a loose foam pit for uneven bar training as well. The gymnastics gym also has a strap bar, a channel bar system, two trampolines, a tumble track and two spotting rigs. Practice facilities for the team include the dance studio in Williams Center.Â
UW-W’s competition venue is the Russell Volleyball Arena, which affords ample comfortable seating for spectators. In addition, when the Warhawk gymnastics team hosts a major competition, such as the 2007 and 2013 National Collegiate Gymnastics Association championships, the team uses Kachel Gym in Williams Center. The Warhawks tied for first in the 2012 NCGA championship and won the title outright in Kachel Gym in 2013. UW-W added titles in 2014, 2017 and 2018.
