WLA/SAAC Student President Testimonials
“I am honored to serve this year as the WLA President. I wanted to become a Veteran Warhawk because of the impact that athletic leaders had on my start in athletics. My hope to pay it forward. I believe that our problems are often much more manageable if we can speak with those who have conquered these common college challenges such as time management, stress of competition and the rigor of academics.” - Liz Mielke, Junior, Women’s Cross Country/Track and Field, WLA President
“I am thrilled to serve as the SAAC president. This year, the collaboration between SAAC and WLA will continue to grow. The two organizations have a new energy and a record number of individuals. While the WLA focuses on mentorship and preparation for success during and beyond college, SAAC will continue to serve as the official governance body for student-athletes. We will work together on community service initiatives and foster a great student experience via the Adopt-A-Team program partnership with University Housing here on campus.” - Jack Deichl, Senior, Football, SAAC President
