Lee Munger - Director of Sports Performance

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater strength and conditioning program is led by Lee Munger who joined the Warhawk athletic department in August 2005.  Munger came from South Dakota State University where he was the first full-time strength and conditioning coordinator at the school and held that role from 2002-2005.  In addition to guiding SDSU's twenty sport programs and helping them transition from an NCAA Division II program to Division I, he also directed the Frappier Acceleration Program for area high school and college athletes.  Prior to SDSU, Munger was a sports performance coach at a private training facility in Sacramento, California where he developed speed, strength and conditioning programs for individuals as young as eight years old to elite college athletes.

Lee earned his bachelor's degree in health promotion from South Dakota State University where he was a four-year letterwinner in football.  Munger received his master's degree in human performance and sport administration from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse where he was a graduate assistant with the strength and conditioning program.  Lee is a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and a level one club coach from the United States Weightlifting Association.
