UWW Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week (April 6th)

Baseball

Holland, Aaron

Position: Aaron Holland – Junior – Catcher – Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton
 

Aaron Holland led the Warhawks to two wins over UW-La Crosse in their doubleheader on Friday. The Warhawks’ catcher had four hits, three of which were doubles, in eight at-bats. Holland tallied five RBIs, including a base-clearing double to put the Warhawks up 5-0 in the sixth inning of game two. 
 

Steuber, Sam

Pitcher: Sam Steuber – Junior – Pitcher – Muskego, Wis./Muskego
 

Sam Steuber went 7.0 scoreless innings against UW-La Crosse in game one of the doubleheader. Steuber only allowed two hits and issued just one walk over his 21 outs. The junior fanned four batters on the way to his second win of the season. 
 

Softball

Position: Rachel Radish – Freshman – First Base/Third Base – Merton, Wis./Arrowhead
 

Rachel Radish had a phenomenal outing for the Warhawks in a 7-1 win over Carroll Friday afternoon. The freshman went 2-4 at the plate with a pair of extra base hits. She tagged a double and belted her first collegiate homerun, a three-run jack to extend the UWW lead. For the week, Radish hit .500 with a slugging percentage of 1.500. 
 

Pitcher: Josie Hammen – Junior – Pitcher – Combined Locks, Wis./Kimberly
 

Josie Hammen picked up a win over Carroll last week. The junior tossed six innings, striking out six along the way while allowing a single run in the contest.
 

Men's Tennis

Billson, Theo

Singles: Theo Billson – Junior – Lindfield, England/BHASVIC
 

Theo Billson defeated Gage Gohl from Gustavus Adolphus in the Warhawks’ dual match against the Gusties over the weekend. Billson, ranked 26th in the ITA rankings, fell in the first set 3-6, but bounced back with a 6-4 second set. The Warhawks’ junior defeated Gohl, ranked 4th in the ITA rankings, in the third-set tiebreaker. 
 

Track & Field

Men's Track: Chris Kalies – Senior – Grafton, Wis./Grafton
 

Chris Kalies won the 200 at the Rex Foster Twilight on Friday. The senior crossed the line in 21.58, nearly a full second ahead of the competition and the second-fastest time in the WIAC this season. Kalies added a fifth-place finish in the 400 with a time of 51.17. 
 

Nickel, Daniel

Men's Field: Daniel Nickel – Freshman – Marshall, Wis./Marshall
 

Daniel Nickel registered a career best to win the high jump at the Rex Foster Twilight on Friday. The freshman cleared a height of 2.01 meters (6-7) – the top mark in the WIAC this season - topping the competition by nearly four inches. 
 

Huerta, Kelly

Women's Track: Kelly Huerta – Sophomore – McHenry, Ill./McHenry
 

Kelly Huerta posted the fastest time in the WIAC this season to win the 200 at the Rex Foster Twilight on Friday. The sophomore was clocked in 24.69 to win the event by over half a second. 
 

Women's Field: Emily Mohs – Junior – Germantown, Wis./Germantown
 

Emily Mohs claimed gold in the triple jump at the Rex Foster Twilight Friday. The junior posted a mark of 10.34 meters (33-11.25) – sixth in the WIAC this season – to win the event. She also placed eleventh in the javelin with a heave of 19.14 meters (62-9).
