Emma Giese (Kenosha, Wis./Indian Trail) led off the frame with a hit-by-pitch and moved up to second on
Grace Grabowy's (Arlington Heights, Ill./John Hersey) sacrifice bunt.
Auburn Roberson (South Elgin, Ill./St. Charles North) singled through the left side to put runners on the corners. A wild pitch allowed Giese to score while Roberson - who was stealing on the pitch - wheeled all the way to third.
Maggie Ward (Downers Grove, Ill./North) walked and swiped second.
Dani Peshia (Newark, Ill./Newark Community) followed with a two-RBI double to left center to give the Warhawks a 3-0 lead.

Ward and Roberson paced the offense with a pair of hits each.
Madi DeBennette (Wadsworth, Ill./Carmel Catholic) picked up the win scattering four hits across six innings while fanning five.
Brooke Hock (Green Bay, Wis./Preble) closed the game, striking out three in the seventh.
In the nightcap, the Warhawks opened the scoring in the third with a little deja vu -- Giese reached on a free pass. Grabowy legged out a single on a perfectly placed bunt. The duo moved up 60 feet on
Belle Lapacek's (Downers Grove, Ill./South) sacrifice. Ward capitalized with a single up the middle that scored the pair.
UWW doubled up in the bottom of the fifth.

Bella Eggert (Carol Stream, Ill./Glenbard North) loaded the bases with a bunt that fell in the Bermuda Triangle for a single. Ward put the ball in play and the defense opted to go for the force out at home -- the Blue Jays looked to have the out but the umpire signaled safe as Grimsley slid into home, indicating the catcher pulled her foot. Two batters later,
Rachel Radish (Merton, Wis./Arrowhead) pushed a ball to the right side that allowed the second run of the inning to score.
Kaitlyn Marsh (Des Plaines, Ill./Maine West) and Hock combined to shutout Elmhurst in game two. Marsh opened the game and picked up the win allowing four hits in 4.2 innings. Hock registered the save in the final 2.1 innings.
