The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's tennis team opened up conference play with a 6-1 win over UW-Eau Claire. 

The Warhawks took the doubles point with a win at the first & second flights, both by a 6-1 set. 

Theo Billson (Lindfield, England/BHASVIC), Andrew Dumbauld (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove), & Keith Moeller (Dallas, Tex./DKM-I University Prep) all took straight set wins to clinch the match for the Warhawks. Seth Smigel (Tiffin, Iowa/Clear Creek Amana) and Charles Morgan (Naperville, Ill./Central) both picked up their matches in straight sets as well to close out the match. 

The last match to finish was at the fourth flight & went into a third set tiebreaker between Gavin Kelleher (Brooklyn, Minn./Champlin Park) & Danylo Ripeckyj. Kelleher picked up the first set 6-4, with Ripeckyj taking the second 4-6. Ripeckyj carried the momentum into the tiebreaker, taking the close 8-10 win.

The Warhawks will face Roosevelt University in a doubleheader with the women's program at Lake Geneva Tennis on March 14th. The men play at 12:30 PM, with the women's to follow.
