The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's and women's tennis team began their annual spring break competition against Carleton College in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. The Warhawk women won 4-3, but the men fell 3-4 in two close matches against the Knights.

The women's team picked up the doubles point with a three flight sweep over the knights. Gracie Ha (Palatine, Ill./Fremd) and Abigail Weaver (Wakarusa, Ind./Mishawaka Marian) set the momentum at the top flight with a 6-2 win over Carleton's top pair.

Gracie Ha (Palatine, Ill./Fremd) and Molly Asfeld (Waukesha, Wis./West) took their matches in straight sets to bring the Warhawks up to four team points to clinch the match. Ha only dropped three games int he first set, winning her second set 6-0. Asfeld won both sets with a 6-3 score. 

The men's team lost the doubles point with Carleton picking up the second and third flights. Theo Billson (Lindfield, England/BHASVIC) and Carter Michaels (Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Eagan) forced their match into the tiebreaker, but the Knights pair picked up the doubles sweep with a 8-6 tiebreaker for the 7-6(6) victory. 

Charles Morgan (Naperville, Ill./Central) and Keith Moeller (Dallas, Tex./DKM-I University Prep) shifted the momentum to the Warhawks side, both with quick straight set wins at their singles flight. Morgan only dropped one game in the second set with a 6-0, 6-1 victory. Moeller won the sixth singles flight 6-1, 6-1. Theo Billson (Lindfield, England/BHASVIC) was able to get the Warhawks to three team points with a third set tiebreaker win. Billson won his match 6-1, 2-6, (10-6). 

The Knights were able to close out the match with the remaining three single matches to take the dual 4-3. 

The Warhawks will return to the courts tomorrow for their next match. The men will play Augustana College at 9 AM (ET) in Hilton Head with the women's team facing Colby College at 11 AM (ET) on Wednesday, March 25th.
