Collin Madson (Mukwonago, Wis./Mukwonago) from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's basketball team was selected to the First Team All-Region by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) and to the First Team All-Region Team from D3Hoops.
Madson adds to his accolades this season, earning First Team All-Conference by the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The junior was named a Kwik Trip Athlete of the Week three times throughout the season (Dec. 8-14, Jan. 26-Feb. 1, & Feb. 9-15).
Madson finished the season with 521 points, starting in all 29 games for UWW. His 521 points ranks 22nd in Warhawk history for most points in a season. In his 29 games, Madson reached double-figure scoring in 25 games, had 20+ points in 13 games, and had over 30 points twice. Madson's season-high was 33 points against Lawrence College on December 10th.
A lights-out shooter, Madson made 45.3% of his three-point attempts, ranking 17th best in UWW history. Madson was a 55.6% shooter from the floor and 80.4% from the free-throw line, making him the only player in the WIAC with those shooting marks.
Collin Madson (Mukwonago, Wis./Mukwonago) is the 11th Warhawk to earn first-team All-Region honors and the first since 2017 when Chris Jones was named First Team by the NABC.
The Warhawks finished the season with a 21-8 overall record (10-4 in WIAC), winning the WIAC regular season title for the first time since 2015. UWW was an at-large selection to the NCAA tournament, advancing to the second round after defeating Loras College 85-76. The Warhawks fell to #21 Washington University in St. Louis in a close 74-71 second-round game.
