Warhawk Tennis Falls to #15 WashU in St. Louis

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's tennis team fell to 15th-ranked Washington University in St. Louis on Saturday evening. The Warhawks, ranked 35th in the most recent ITA poll, had a tough match against the Bears.

In the second doubles flight, Gavin Kelleher (Brooklyn, Minn./Champlin Park) & Charles Morgan (Naperville, Ill./Central) fended off the Washington University pair, forcing the match to extra games. The Warhawk pair fended off match point, but the Bears group got the final two games to win 7-5.

Theo Billson (Lindfield, England/BHASVIC) faced off against the top Washington University player Eric Kuo at the No. 1 singles flight. After falling in the first set 4-6, Billson bounced back to force a tiebreaker, winning the second set 6-3. Kuo grabbed the momentum in the tiebreaker, ultimately taking the match 5-10.
