The No. 7 UW-Whitewater women's basketball team got back in the win column with a 72-53 victory over UW-Stout. The Warhawks shot nearly 50% from beyond the arc en route to the 19-point win.
After a slow start on the offensive end, the Warhawks rebounded in the second quarter. UWW hit 62-percent of their shots in the second to take a one point lead into the locker room.

The squads traded buckets early on in the third until UWW strung together a big run courtesy of three consecutive three-pointers forcing UW-Stout to burn a timeout. Guard
Renee Rittmeyer (Winnebago, Ill./Winnebago) hit the latter two of the Warhawks' baskets from deep.
Bolstered by the three-point barrage, the Warhawk offense continued to surge. UW-Whitewater closed the game with a lopsided fourth quarter sway of 20-8. Gillis recorded 10 of the Warhawks' 20 scored in the frame.
Gillis led all scorers with 21 points on 50% shooting, while fellow forward
Logan Lowry (Appleton, Wis./East) recorded a career high 12 points on 3-5 shooting from three-point range.
UWW returns home on January 21st to face the UW-Platteville Pioneers starting at 7 pm.
