The Warhawks men's and women's track & field teams opened their official 2026 indoor track season with a strong showing at the Firebird Invite in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The men's team scored a total of 155 points to place 2nd overall. The women's team tallied 98 points, finishing 3rd overall in the meet.
After posting the best time in the prelims,
Caleb Beightol (Belgium, Wis./Cedar Grove-Belgium) took first in the 55m with a time of 6.35. The Warhawks claimed five spots in the finals, with
Ben Bojar (Pewaukee, Wis./Pewaukee) (3rd-6.55) and
Traysen Thomason (Whitewater, Wis./Whitewater) (4th-6.57) following Beightol.
Lincoln Begin (Greenfield, Wis./Greenfield) set his own PR with a 6.60 to place 6th in the 55m.Â
The Warhawks also claimed gold on the women's 55m, with
Kelly Huerta (McHenry, Ill./McHenry) leading the way with a 7.33.
Danielle Pouska (Algonquin, Ill./Jacobs) followed her for third with a 7.47.
In the 55 hurdles,
Tristan Ropiak (Racine, Wis./St. Catherine's) started his season with a personal best, timing in at 8.21 for third overall. Freshman
Kaiden Porep (Elkhorn, Wis./Elkhorn) was just a hundredth of a second behind him with an 8.22 for 4th in the finals.
The Warhawks had a third place finish in the women's 55 hurdles, as
Delaney Gale (Crystal Lake, Ill./Prairie Ridge) crossed at 9.13.Â
Chris Kalies (Grafton, Wis./Grafton) placed first overall in the 200m, completing the lap in 22.44 seconds, the 75th fastest time in Division III. For the women's 200m,
Kiersten Dellar (Waukesha, Wis./Watertown Lutheran Prep) placed second overall with a 27.55 with
Delaney Gale (Crystal Lake, Ill./Prairie Ridge) placing 4th with a 27.92.Â
The Warhawk jumpers also had a successful day, with two men's jumpers surpassing 1.95m (6-04.75).
Daniel Nickel (Marshall, Wis./Marshall) and
Landon Scray (Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead) each passed the mark for the top spot on high jump.Â
For women's high jump,
Abby Burr (Lancaster, Wis./Lancaster) surpassed her personal best with a 1.60m (5-03.00). Burr placed second overall with
Mercedi Lapacek (Poynette, Wis./Poynette) placing 3rd with a 1.55m (5-01.00) jump.
For long jump,
Connor Anderson (Waukesha, Wis./North) and Lincoln begin highlighted the Warhawk men. Anderson leapt 7.08m (23-02.75) for second place and the 18th best mark in Division III this season. Begin measured at 6.98m (22-10.75) on his third jump for third place.Â
The Warhawk men also took first in the triple jump, with
Aiden Neduzak (Nekoosa, Wis./Nekoosa) reaching a 12.96m (42-06.25) for the ten team points.
Senior
Jenna Wilkinson (Sun Prairie, WI/Sun Prairie) highlight the women's throwers, placing 3rd overall in the shot put and a 74th best mark in Division III with a 11.81m (38-0.900) toss on her second attempt.Â
Ryleigh Czarnecki (Muskego, Wis./Muskego) kept rolling for weight throw with the 26th best throw in DIII. On her first throw of the day, Czarnecki tossed a 15.61m (51-02.75) for first overall.Â
On the men's throwing side,
Jordan Jackson (Milwaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) topped the Warhawk lineup in both the shot put and weight throw. Jackson tossed a 14.20m (46-07.25) in the shot put and a 15.49m (50-10.00) in the weight throw for second overall in each.Â
