Waverly, Iowa -- The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's golf team wrapped up competition at the Wartburg Fall Invitational in Waverly, Iowa. Delainey Halverson (Oregon, Wis./Oregon) led the Warhawks, finishing 10th overall on the leaderboard. Jessica Velent (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Adlai E. Stevenson) led the second Warhawk fivesome, finishing 12th overall.

The first Warhawk squad finished 7th overall on the two day invite with a 641 (319-323). Halverson led the group, finishing with a 154 after shooting a 77 both days. Megan Honn (LaFayette, Ind./Jefferson) finished with a 79 on day two, improving by three strokes from her 82 first day. Abbie Reiser (Washington, Ill./Washington Community) (83-83), Payton Schmidt (Jefferson, Wis./Jefferson) (78-84), and Emily Akers (Schaumburg, Ill./Schaumburg) (82-87) rounded out the first group. 

 The second squad finished 11th overall, totaling 648 (327-321). Velent led the group with a 13th overall finish, shooting a team-best 76 on the second day. Kellie Shanahan (Wauconda, Ill./Mundelein) improved 20 places to finish 29th overall. Shanhan improved five strokes the second day, totaling a 161 (83-78). Noah Berken (82-84), Breezy Roman (Fort Atkinson, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) (83-83), and Elizabeth Vanderhei (Mukwonago, Wis./Mukwonago) (83-88) rounded out the second Warhawk group. 

The women's golf team will return to action in just over a week at the Grand Valley State Invite. The three-day invite will take place Monday, September 15th, to Wednesday, September 17th at The Meadows Golf Club in Allendale, MI.

Delainey Halverson (Oregon, Wis./Oregon) paced to top squad going +5 on the day to stand in 12th on the individual leaderboard. Payton Schmidt (Jefferson, Wis./Jefferson) is a stroke back of her teammate. Megan Honn (LaFayette, Ind./Jefferson) and Emily Akers (Schaumburg, Ill./Schaumburg) carded a +10 round each while Abbie Reiser (Washington, Ill./Washington Community) came in at +11. 

Jessica Velent (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Adlai E. Stevenson) led the second Warhawk fivesome coming into the clubhouse +7 after the first 18. Norah Berken (Kaukauna, Wis./Kaukauna) is +10 while Elizabeth Vanderhei (Mukwonago, Wis./Mukwonago), Kellie Shanahan (Wauconda, Ill./Mundelein) and Breezy Roman (Fort Atkinson, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) are all +11. 

The tournament will wrap up with another 18 Sunday.
